We are based in New York City and showcase both national and international writers. As well as publishing the highest quality poetry and prose, we organize numerous readings, performances, and book releases in New York City and across the country. Find us every Sunday on the Lower East Side at the Parkside Lounge, 317 East Houston St, for our reading series, great weather presents Spoken Word Sundays. is the author of two books of poetry published by Three Rooms Press, most recently It Starts from the Belly and Blooms. The winner of a performance grant from the Staten Island Council of the Arts and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, he has been on four national slam teams and was the grand slam champ for the Advanced Slam. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the New School and is a co-founding editor of great weather for MEDIA and NYSAI Press. is the author of Sharp Blue Stream (Three Rooms Press). David is a graduate of the theatre program at Boston University, where he was also a Guest Artist in the graduate play writing classes taught by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott. For ten years he was a background vocalist in the New York underground band Leisure Class. At the band's de facto headquarters in the Chelsea Hotel, he befriended Beat godfather Herbert Huncke and San Francisco poet Marty Matz and was inspired by their embodiment of the written word. is editor of Poetrybay, Polarity, and Poetryvlog, and has edited lit-mags for more than twenty years. A poet, performer, and 30-year veteran of community newspapers, he is writer-in-residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace and teaches writing at Pace University in Manhattan.
Mary McLaughlin Slechta
is author of the poetry collection Wreckage on a Watery Moon and two chapbooks. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in journals and anthologies, including Pedestal, Red Savina Review, and Main Street Rag.
is a Brooklyn-based performance artist and writer who teaches writing and literature at Bronx Community College and as a volunteer at the Brooklyn Public Library. Aimee has been widely published by journals and anthologies and has two books of poetry, meant to wake up feeling (great weather for MEDIA) and to go without blinking (BlazeVOX books). Aimee was a vital part of our team in 2016-2018 and is currently concentrating on her upcoming novel from Three Rooms Press and other works.
has been involved in the running of poetry events in NYC and throughout the New York area for the past six years. He currently runs the Green’s Revolution reading series in Amityville, Long Island. He has been a collaborator with Boone’s Dock Press and his work has been published in several print and online anthologies. A graduate of Hofstra University, Russ lives and works in Stony Brook, NY. Russ is moving to new challenges and study after the publication of The Careless Embrace of the Boneshaker. We wish him all the best.
wrote poetry, short fiction, music, and was producer/host for Hydrogen Jukebox, a NYC reading series pairing poets with an improvisational band. His poetry collection, You Are White Inside, was published by Three Rooms Press in 2011. Other publications include a chapbook, Your Infidel Eyes, (Poets Wear Prada, 2008), and the spoken word/music CDs Beauty Keeps laying Its Sharp Knife Against Me and Brain Ampin’. Brant passed away May 12 2012. An enthusiastic founding editor of great weather, he is sorely missed.
